Panasonic introduces two new Hard Disk Recorders to its line-up: the WJ-HD309 and the WJ-HD316. The WJ-HD300 series offers high quality picture and disk saving recording utilising a new compression technology.

Its ’All-in-One Solution’ concept provides all the vital components and features condensed into one unit. This single unit provides highly reliable surveillance recording in a wide range of applications.

Two units are available in the WJ-HD300 series: the WJ-HD309 with 9 camera inputs and the WJ-HD316 with 16 camera inputs. Both models are available configured with one or two 160GB hard drives allowing for better storage management. In addition, four WJ-HD300 series DVR’s can be interlinked to provide a total system capacity of 64 channels. For additional storage the WJ-HD300 series provides an expansion bay for four hard drives and a total of six of these bays can be connected to the main unit.

As cutting edge technology, the WJ-HD300 series features full-frame compression; the new algorithm compresses the entire screen and reduces artificial distortions and noise compared to the conventional compression process. Various parameters and filters enable instant search and playback from mass recorded data, along with the ability to record and playback images simultaneously.

The layout of the WJ-HD300 series is designed for ease-of-use and the GUI based menu screen enables quick set up for flexible more complex operations. It also includes the latest value added features such as system reliability, operation efficiency and cost savings. It also features the ability to control pan/tilt/zoom functions via a standard web browser.
