Panasonic WJNT304 MPEG-4/JPEG Encoder Unit
Network Interface Unit MPEG-4 and JPEG dual stream output Progressive output Panasonic camera control Bi-directional audio Built-in network interface Multiscreen Panasonic introduces the dual streaming WJ-NT304 encoder unit 21 May 2007, Panasonic today introduces the new WJ-NT304 encoder unit from its highly acclaimed i-pro Series. The WJ-NT304 features dual streaming which allows the simultaneous transmission of MPEG-4 and JPEG images from up to four analogue cameras. This encoder can transmit VGA (640 x 480) images in either MPEG-4 or JPEG alone at up to 30 frames per second. Alternatively, dual streaming makes it possible to combine seamless remote video monitoring and high resolution recording using MPEG-4 with simultaneous transmission of JPEG images to the optional Network Disk Recorder. The WJ-NT304 incorporates a multicast feature which allows simultaneous transmission of MPEG-4 to multiple clients whilst making efficient use of bandwidth. Utilising network shaping whilst transmitting in MPEG-4, network bandwidth is carefully regulated to avoid sudden bursts in data from the encoder which could result in an overload of the network Two-way audio is supported by the encoder to allow live audio monitoring using a locally procured microphone, with the option to send audio back if required. Viewing options such as pan, tilt and zoom operations can be selected and controlled remotely on a Panasonic dome camera through a single coaxial cable which is used for both video and telemetry. The new network encoder also allows up to four analogue cameras to be monitored at the same time whilst the built-in SD memory card slot makes it possible to back up surveillance images in the event of network difficulties. With a built-in alarm function for external security devices, the WJ-NT304 is suitable for a wide range of applications. It’s a simple and highly cost-effective way to transform existing analogue cameras into higher performance, user-friendly recording systems.
